Korea-Germany DAAD GEnKO Partnership Cooperation

· Program objective

Establish cooperative networks between researchers in the two countries and mutually improve basic research capacity through international cooperative programs with DAAD

Expand partnerships through long-term academic exchanges between Korea and Germany

※ Joint participation is available for Korea, Germany, and Japan. The research expenses for each nation’s researchers should be borne by the relevant nation.

Eligibility: Researchers affiliated with “universities” (including affiliated research institutes) and “research institutions” as defined under Article 2 of the Sciences Promotion Act, who are eligible to apply for projects in the name of the head of the relevant institution

Funding: (Korea-Germany) Up to KRW 20 million (USD 18 thousand*) annually per case; (Korea-Germany-Japan) Up to KRW 30 million (USD 27 thousand*) annually per case

 * approximation based on exchange rate of 1 USD = 1,100 KRW

Summary: Provide support for airfare, living expenses, and other expenses for Korean researcher exchanges
